November 7, 1917: The Bolsheviks Revolt in Russia.
 On this date in history, The Bolsheviks mainly made up of peasants under the leadership of Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky revolted against the Tsar in Russia setting off the October Revolution with the aim of implementing a proletarian dictatorship. 
Within two days The Bolsheviks would claim victory in The October Revolution and would create the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics the first Marxist state in history with Vladimir Lenin as head of state. 

Nothing will raise the revolutionary energy of the world proletariat so much, nothing will shorten the path leading to its complete victory to such an extent, as this decisive victory of the revolution that has now started in Russia. - Vladimir Lenin
