President Obama said Friday that he did not foresee a scenario of “American boots on the ground in Syria” that would be good for that country or the region.
Barack Obama stated during a joint news conference with President Laura Chinchilla of Costa Rica that he “does not foresee a scenario in which boots on the ground in Syria, American boots on the ground in Syria, would be good for America or be good for Syria.”
This came after the United States was made aware that Israel had conducted an airstrike within Syria, believed to prevent the transportation of weapons to Hezbollah. The Lebanese army website has stated that 16 planes have violated Lebanon’s airspace, from Thursday evening to Saturday morning.
Since the United States is the sworn protector of Israel, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Barack Obama did in fact order a military intervention in Syria, for the sake of course of saving Israeli lives.
